my ode to vintage

might be blabbering a bit here, but i just thought i'd share why i think vintage beads are just so fabulous. personally i love history. especially Egyptian, Greek, Roman - the myths, the stories, the events, the outcomes, the impact. vintage beads are a little teeny piece of history on their own. i think the possibility of owning that bit is just amazing. it's like your own little piece of archaeological find and treasure. its not just the place the beads are made, you see the skills, the techniques, the creativity. so i do believe vintage beads are here to stay at squiggletown. i'll be on the lookout for even more great finds!

btw, just to note, as far as possible i use genuine gemstones, pearls, crystals and all. i haven't ventured into 925 silver or 14k goldfilled yet, but as far as the beads and gemstones are concerned they will be of quality. for now the metal i'm using is usually copper plated in gold, black silver and other colours. just so you know. (:
